Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Leave
Earned Time
Employees begin accruing earned time upon hire, and earned time may be used for sick days, holidays, and vacation. Unused earned time rolls over to the next year, and up to seven days of unused earned time may be withdrawn from your earned time bank on your anniversary date. Earned time increases with years of service as follows:

The paid holidays are New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Extended Illness Bank
Employees accrue a maximum of 6 days (48 hours) in the Extended Illness Bank annually, with no carry-over to the next year. When employees miss 5 continuous days of work due to a single illness, the Extended Illness Bank may be used starting on the 6th day of illness for sick pay.

Bereavement/Jury Duty Leave
Employees may receive 3 days of paid bereavement leave extending from the date of an immediate family member's death through the date of the funeral. Immediate family members include: spouse, parents, children, in-laws, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren.
Employees are allowed paid civic leave while serving on a jury or as a witness. Employees will receive the difference between their wages and the amount received as payment for their services from the court.
