Outpatient

outpatient treatmentThe Rimrock Foundation Evening Care Program is designed to benefit people who suffer from alcohol or drug dependency, co-dependency, or compulsive gambling problems and who are motivated to change their behavior with family support.

Program Benefits

If you are able to live at home, perhaps continue fulfilling your job responsibilities, and still remain abstinent during the treatment period, then this program may be right for you. It represents an opportunity to learn about your illness, develop knowledge of how to change your life, and apply that knowledge directly into your life as you continue through treatment.

The program provides you with the core educational aspects of our intensive Inpatient program at a much lower cost and minimal disruption in your life.

Basic Information

You will be participating in at least four and as much as six weeks of programming, the length of which depends on your individual needs and progress. It meets Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., beginning with one hour of educational material, usually a videotaped lecture mixed with some educational films, followed by two hours of group therapy with up to five or six other patients and your counselor.

You will be given orientation to program rules and the group process on your first evening, and you will then be expected to use the group to disclose your thoughts and feelings for the purpose of discovering what in your life needs changing and how to begin making those needed changes.

Family Participation

We expect one or two family members, sometimes more, to attend with you on each Tuesday evening for the entire three-hour meeting. Your counselor will help determine the most appropriate family members for these sessions. You’ll discover that the Tuesday Family Night sessions will help you improve communications with your loved ones and help them understand your illness through specially selected lectures that benefit the whole family.

You will meet privately with your counselor once each week for an individual therapy session that lasts from thirty minutes to an hour. These sessions are scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.

Twelve Step Programs

The program is based in part on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and related support groups. You will complete Step 1 during the program, and will be expected to participate simultaneously in an appropriate community-based 12 Step Program which you and your counselor will choose together.

Aftercare

The decision to enter the Evening Care Program should represent your commitment to change your life. In making this commitment, you are also agreeing to be involved in an twelve-week Aftercare Program which meets each Monday night at Rimrock Foundation at 7 p.m. Your counselor will work with you to develop your aftercare plan sometime during the fourth week of the Evening Care Program.

The Best Approach

This program is not for everyone. Some patients need more intensive help. We will not encourage you to continue your participation if it becomes apparent your needs are not being met. If your problems are more complex or you are not able to remain abstinent during treatment, we will work with you to identify your best treatment alternatives.

Admissions

To discuss the Evening Care Program, call our Evening Care Counselor at (406) 248-3175 or toll free at 1-800-227-3953 Monday through Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. or on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our counselor will meet with you to answer your questions and to determine whether this program appears to be appropriate for you.

Program Costs

The Evening Care Counselor will discuss the fees for our services which cover both the four-week Evening Care Program and the eight-week Aftercare Program.
