DUI Class

Completion of the ACT (ASSESSMENT, COURSE, and TREATMENT) program is a State requirement for individuals who have been convicted of a DUI or similar offense.

Rimrock provides enrollment sessions for individuals needing to complete the ACT program. Rimrock must have received your court referral form prior to enrollment. During the enrollment process, all steps of the program will be detailed and all questions will be answered by the counselor.

If an individual has been convicted with two or more DUI/DUI per se offenses in the past 10 years, State law requires the individual complete some level of treatment, as well as monthly monitoring for one year.

Procedures for the ACT Program:

  • There will be an ACT assessment-intake which includes paperwork, which can be filled out via DocuSign or in person, and a face-to-face interview, conducted virtually or in person, with an appropriately licensed counselor. The cost of this assessment-intake (or chemical dependency evaluation) is $292 and is a self-pay expense. Payment plans are acceptable. Payment of $100 is required to begin enrollment in ACT. Payment can be accepted by cash, money order, or credit/debit card at the main Rimrock facility at 1231 N. 29th Street. You may also pay by credit or debit card over the phone with Reception, at 406-248-3175. The assessment will be scheduled following payment.
  • Rimrock will reach out to discuss recommendations which may include treatment or the ACT Prime for Life (PFL) course. At that time, the counselor will have you sign the ACT Advisal of Rights either in person or via DocuSign.
  • Rimrock must have the following documents in your file upon your enrollment into the program:
    • ACT Court Referral / Court Order
    • Release of Information to the referring court
    • Release of Information to Records and Driver Control
    • ACT/Prime for Life Expectations – Signed
  • The assessment, number of DUIs you have, and court order will determine if you are required to complete the Prime for Life course and/or treatment. All second or subsequent DUIs require some level of treatment to be followed by monthly monitoring for one year. The cost of treatment will vary based on the level of care you are recommended for. In some cases, insurance may help cover the cost of treatment. Any cost not covered by insurance is your responsibility to pay and is to be paid in full prior to starting treatment.
  • Class dates and times will vary based on need, and will take place virtually. You must attend both sessions to complete the Prime for Life course. The cost of the course is $300 and is not covered by insurance. Again, payment plans are acceptable and the cost must be paid in full prior to scheduling.
