Building Your New Life in the New Year

With the start of a new year comes 365 new opportunities to begin your journey toward overcoming your addiction and becoming who you really want to be. If an addiction didn’t control your life, what would you like to accomplish? Maybe you’re interested in going to culinary school and becoming a professional chef, or maybe you’ve always had a gift with words and would like to start your own blog. Whatever your passion, know that the first step of the journey to achieve recovery and pursue an interest or career, is to acknowledge that you both need and want to receive help.

When one develops an addiction, whether it be to substances, games, sex or food, it can be hard to see beyond the addiction and focus on what might lie ahead for us, including getting help. Even the idea of reaching out and admitting that you need help can seem intimidating, however, by deciding to reach out and make that phone call, you are also deciding to begin a transition and regain control of your life.

Deciding to ask for help is just the beginning of a difficult but rewarding journey. By choosing to become completely involved in your treatment process, and entirely committed to personal change, we at Rimrock will teach you about your addiction and introduce you to healthy coping skills and a 12 Step recovery program. We will help you make an informed decision about how to change your life and move forward after treatment. Our programs are designed to help you choose freedom over addiction, and to also find a balance in your life and to achieve a lasting recovery. If you are ready to make the change and pursue who you want to become this year, your journey has already begun.

You can build the life you’ve always wanted, and it all starts with you. Choosing recovery enables you to get the most out of your life, whether that means going to college, pursuing a hobby, or even spending time with your loved ones. Seeking help is a choice, completing treatment is a choice, and staying clean and sober in recovery is a choice. It all comes down to choices, and when you choose you, your life becomes yours again. Remember- addictions don’t change, but you can in 2019.
